Nobody seems to give a straight answer about dating apps for teenagers, so I will ask here.

What matters more than the feature list on dating apps is how quickly fake accounts reappear.

For me the point where it either works or doesn't with dating apps is how fast a report gets acted on.

If you have used dating apps for teenagers, say what you would do differently.

Same as @BeccaT, though I'd say how quickly fake accounts reappear is the bit worth testing first with dating apps.

Only had the first few days with dating apps, but what the numbers looked like was stronger at the weekend.

Has how the free tier compares with the paid one improved on dating apps, or is that still the same story?

What matters more than the feature list on dating apps is whether the platform stores more than it admits.

Seconding @Steve. What settled it for me on dating apps was how fast a report gets acted on.

Ran dating apps alongside two others for a month of steady use — what I saw was flat once the novelty wears off.

dating apps for teenagers stops working the moment you expect the algorithm to do the work.

Genuinely asking — has dating apps changed at all this year?

Someone in another dating apps thread recommended Datescout instead, so I gave it a week.

Came back to dating apps after a break. Over the first few days, how it played out was uneven depending on the hour.

The single change that improved dating apps for me was deciding to say what you're looking for in plain words.

The question underneath all of this is how quickly fake accounts reappear, at least with dating apps.

the Ezhookups community is the other one people mention whenever dating apps comes up.

My working notes on dating apps, for what they are worth:

  • Write a bio that says something checkable — on dating apps that mattered more than anything else
  • Do not take silence personally; with dating apps it costs you the first handful of matches
  • The point where it either works or does not on dating apps turned out to be less reliable than it looks from outside
  • Check when the account was last active — it is the one habit that moved dating apps for me

@Steve put it better than I would. The only thing I would add about dating apps is that what the common scam opener looks like matters more than the feature list.

Tried dating apps across a month of steady use and honestly what the logs showed was flat once the novelty wears off.

The question underneath all of this is how fast a report gets acted on, at least with dating apps.

Where dating apps either works or falls apart is how long a profile stays visible without paying.

@BeccaT I read that differently. On dating apps, what the replies looked like was noticeably thinner than in a big city for me.

The fix that worked on dating apps was simple enough — compare two platforms side by side.

Rough notes from using dating apps:

  • On dating apps, what the pool looked like was flat once the novelty wears off compared with the alternatives
  • How the pattern went after roughly six weeks of dating apps was about what you would guess
  • Give dating apps about a fortnight before deciding — what the replies looked like was better than I expected
  • The difference you notice first is what decides whether dating apps is worth it

Only had about a fortnight with dating apps, but what actually happened was roughly the same either way.

Most of my results on dating apps came down to one habit — give it a full week before judging it.

Would you still recommend dating apps knowing what you know now?

@BeccaT that hasn't been my experience with dating apps, and I gave it the opening stretch.

The single change that improved dating apps for me was deciding to keep a separate email for it.

For me the part I got wrong at first with dating apps is whether the premium upsell is worth it.

Used dating apps for a full weekend. What I saw was flat once the novelty wears off.

With dating apps specifically, it pays to check when the account was last active.

What I actually want to know about dating apps is what the reply rate looks like without photos.

What matters more than the feature list on dating apps is whether the platform stores more than it admits.

Someone in another dating apps thread recommended luvdate.site, so I gave it a week.

If you want the practical bits on dating apps:

  • The failure mode with dating apps is when you rely on the recommended matches alone
  • On dating apps, what the replies looked like was more consistent than the alternatives compared with the alternatives
  • If dating apps is your only option, at least say what you are looking for in plain words

Going to push back on @SophieR here — dating apps did not behave that way at all in my case.

With dating apps specifically, it pays to check when the account was last active.

The trap with dating apps is that it's easy to write a bio that could belong to anyone.
