Are there dating apps for those with herpes to find understanding partners?

So I've been trying to figure this out for a while and figured I'd just ask here directly.

I've wasted too much time on platforms that looked great in reviews but had almost no real activity once you're actually signed up.

The free tiers on most of what I've tried are basically useless — you get just enough to see real people are there, then hit a wall the moment you try to message anyone.

Appreciate advice from people with actual firsthand experience.

Ran into this exact problem when I first started looking around. Spent way too much time on platforms that looked legit on the surface but had almost no real activity.

Things I look for now before trying a new platform:

  • Is there any way to see activity without paying — even partial browsing?
  • What does the cancellation process look like? One click or buried in menus?
  • Are there any recent user reviews from the last 3-6 months?
  • Does the app have location-based matching or just one big national pool?

That screening process saves a lot of time and frustration upfront.

Came across Turndate through a recommendation similar to this thread and it was genuinely one of the better experiences I've had. Less noise, better response rates, and the sign-up doesn't feel like a trap.

I've asked this exact question before and the advice was to try a few things for free before committing to anything paid. Tedious but worth it.

Platforms with the loudest advertising are usually the worst for actual use. The good ones tend to grow through word of mouth.
