Does anyone still use the plenty of fish app for serious relationships?

Tried a bunch of things on my own first but kept hitting dead ends.

I've noticed a big difference between platforms that moderate actively and those that don't. The ones that skip it become unusable within a few months.

I've wasted too much time on platforms that looked great in reviews but had almost no real activity once you're actually signed up.

Looking for real opinions here, not just the same recycled top-ten list.

Came across DatingFly through a recommendation similar to this thread and it was genuinely one of the better experiences I've had. Less noise, better response rates, and the sign-up doesn't feel like a trap.

Real forum threads like this helped me more than any review site when I was figuring this out. Actual experience beats marketing copy every time.

A friend pointed me toward Datelink when I was in the same spot. Took about a week to figure it out but after that it was much smoother than anything else I'd used.

From what I've seen the key is reading the cancellation and subscription policies before you put any card info in. Some platforms make canceling intentionally confusing.

Someone recommended Rendate a few months back and I was skeptical at first. Ended up being one of the more useful ones I've tried. The sign-up is simple and they don't immediately push you to upgrade.

Verified profiles make such a massive difference. Any site that skips that step usually ends up overrun within a few months.

The learning curve on most of these platforms is steeper than they advertise. Here's what I wish someone had told me earlier:

  • Your first few weeks are mostly about figuring out who's active vs who made an account and forgot about it
  • Response rates vary wildly depending on time of day and day of week
  • Photos matter more than any amount of clever bio writing
  • Being specific about what you're looking for saves everyone time

Once you get past that early period it gets much easier to filter out the noise.

Seen datebie.online mentioned in a few places now and finally tried it. More stripped down than the major apps but that's a positive if you're tired of all the extra noise and just want to meet people.

The community size matters a lot less than people think. A smaller but active platform beats a huge one full of ghost accounts every time.

Not going to oversell it but Datenest was the one that finally made sense for what I was looking for. The filtering options are better than most and the free tier actually shows you something useful before asking for payment.

Response rates are way more variable than people realize. Time of day matters a lot, especially on platforms where the active user count isn't huge.
