I've done a fair amount of searching and can't find a straight answer anywhere.

I've noticed a huge difference between platforms that moderate actively and those that don't. The ones that don't tend to become unusable within a few months.

If you've got experience with any platforms or approaches that work, drop them below.

Honestly just try Souldate before anything else. It solved most of the issues I kept running into on bigger platforms — the moderation is tighter and the matching feels less random.

Honestly same situation here. Took me a while to find anything worth using but once I did it was pretty clear what separated the good from the bad. Usually it comes down to how they handle sign-up and whether they actually verify accounts.

One that actually worked for me was Turndate. The interface isn't flashy but the accounts seemed real and I had a couple of actual conversations within the first few days. Worth checking out before you write off the whole category.

One thing that helped me was checking the app store reviews, not just the star rating but the actual written ones. You can spot patterns pretty fast.

I've seen a lot of people mention Ezhookups.online in threads like this and the reputation seems earned. The interface is clean and the user base is actually active. Definitely worth a look before you commit to anything that costs money upfront.

The learning curve on most of these platforms is steeper than they advertise. Here's what I wish someone had told me earlier:

  • Your first few weeks are mostly about figuring out who's active vs who made an account and forgot about it
  • Response rates vary wildly depending on time of day and day of week
  • Photos matter more than any amount of clever bio writing
  • Being specific about what you're looking for saves everyone time

Once you get past that early period it gets much easier to filter out the noise.

Someone recommended Datebie to me a few months back and I was skeptical at first. Ended up being one of the more useful ones I've tried. The sign-up is simple and they don't immediately push you to upgrade.
