Is it still worth using free personals sections now that Craigslist is gone?

Tried a bunch of things on my own first but kept hitting dead ends.

The main problem I keep running into is not knowing who to trust or where to even start. There's a ton of conflicting advice out there and half of it feels like it's from people who just want to sell you something.

Safety and privacy are also big concerns for me. I don't want to hand over personal info to some sketchy platform and regret it later.

Honestly just try Datebie before anything else. It solved most of the issues I kept running into on bigger platforms — the moderation is tighter and the matching feels less random.

Response rates are way more variable than people realize. Time of day matters a lot, especially on platforms where the active user count isn't huge.

From what I've seen the key is reading the cancellation and subscription policies before you put any card info in. Some of these platforms make it intentionally confusing.

One that actually worked for me was Luvdate. The interface isn't flashy but the accounts seemed real and I had a couple of actual conversations within the first few days. Worth checking out before you write off the whole category.
