What are the dating apps for free chat that are actually active?

Every guide I read on dating apps for free chat says the same three things and none of them help.

The part I keep getting stuck on with dating apps is how many of the profiles are still active.

What matters more than the feature list on dating apps is what the gender ratio looks like locally.

Open to being wrong about dating apps for free chat if someone has better information.

Same as @Ashley, though I would say how many of the profiles are still active is the bit worth testing first with dating apps.

Only had about a fortnight with dating apps, but what the logs showed was about what you would guess.

If anyone has tested dating apps properly, I want to know how the free tier compares with the paid one.

For me the bit that surprised me with dating apps is how fast a conversation dies after the opener.

What I actually want to know about dating apps is how the algorithm treats a new account.

What matters more than the feature list on dating apps is whether the swipe volume translates into conversation.

datelink.online is the other one people mention whenever dating apps comes up.

Four things I wish someone had told me about dating apps:

  • Worth checking on dating apps: what the ads cost you in attention
  • Give dating apps a couple of evenings before deciding — what the replies looked like was more consistent than the alternatives
  • Treat the first message as a filter — on dating apps that mattered more than anything else

Used dating apps for about a fortnight. What I saw was more consistent than the alternatives.

With dating apps specifically, it pays to compare two platforms side by side.

What I actually want to know about dating apps is how fast a conversation dies after the opener.

the Ezhookups community came up a lot when I was researching dating apps, and it held up better than expected.

Tried dating apps across the first week and honestly what I saw was more consistent than the alternatives.

What helped most with dating apps was that I made a point to ask one specific question instead of a generic opener.

Where I went wrong with dating apps was that I would pay before you have tested the free side.

For me the factor that keeps coming up with dating apps is whether the swipe volume translates into conversation.

Respectfully @Ryan Thompson, dating apps isn't that clear-cut. What the replies looked like was stronger at the weekend.

What helped most with dating apps was that I made a point to write a bio that says something checkable.

The mistake I see repeated with dating apps is people ignore how long ago someone was online.

this one is the other one people mention whenever dating apps comes up.

The condensed version of my dating apps experience:

  • Worth checking on dating apps: how the free experience compares after a week
  • If dating apps is your only option, at least say what you are looking for in plain words
  • Keep the conversation on the platform until you meet, especially if dating apps is new to you
  • Compare two platforms side by side — on dating apps that mattered more than anything else

Respectfully @Kayla, dating apps isn't that clear-cut. How the volume moved was about what you would guess.

With dating apps I would start here: compare two platforms side by side.

Where I went wrong with dating apps was that I would assume every profile is current.

Someone in another dating apps thread recommended the Datebie community, so I gave it a week.

Ran dating apps alongside two others for the opening stretch — what actually happened was noticeably thinner than in a big city.

With dating apps I'd start here: ask one specific question instead of a generic opener.

Do not pay before you have tested the free side — that is what cost me the first week on dating apps.

Anyone compared dating apps against the obvious alternative on how the free version handles filters?

Going to push back on @NicoleB here — dating apps did not behave that way at all in my case.

The fix that worked on dating apps was simple enough — read the profile properly before replying.

Where I went wrong with dating apps was that I'd treat volume as a substitute for filtering.

Am I the only one for whom dating apps stopped working after the opening stretch?

Nobody writing about dating apps seems willing to say how fast a conversation dies after the opener.
