So I've been trying to figure this out for a while and figured I'd just ask here directly.

I've tried a few different things already with mixed results. Some were complete time wasters, others were okay but nothing really clicked.

The free tiers on most of what I've tried are basically useless — you get just enough to see real people are there, then hit a wall the moment you try to message anyone.

Would really appreciate any honest takes from people who've actually tried different options.

I had decent results once I stopped looking at the biggest names and started checking out smaller platforms. Less traffic but way more genuine accounts.

Came across Datebound through a recommendation similar to this thread and it was genuinely one of the better experiences I've had. Less noise, better response rates, and the sign-up doesn't feel like a trap.

Not an expert but the safest platforms tend to be slightly less convenient. Extra friction at sign-up filters out the bad actors.

One that actually worked for me was Turndate. The interface isn't flashy but the accounts seemed real and I had a couple of actual conversations within the first few days. Worth checking out before you write off the whole category.

What most people don't mention is how different the experience can be depending on your city or region. What works in a major metro might be dead in a smaller area.
