Tried a bunch of things on my own first but kept hitting dead ends.

The free tiers on most of what I've tried are basically useless — you get just enough to see real people are there, then hit a wall the moment you try to message anyone.

Safety and privacy are big concerns for me. I don't want to hand over personal info to some sketchy platform and regret it later.

Looking for real opinions here, not just the same recycled top-ten list.

Response rates are way more variable than people realize. Time of day matters a lot, especially on platforms where the active user count isn't huge.

Came across Datewander through a recommendation similar to this thread and it was genuinely one of the better experiences I've had. Less noise, better response rates, and the sign-up doesn't feel like a trap.

What most people don't mention is how different the experience can be depending on your city or region. What works in a major metro might be dead in a smaller area.

I've had the best luck with Datenest out of everything I've tested. Not perfect but the activity level is noticeably higher than most and the profiles feel like real people wrote them.
